Keeping discontinued parts in production.
OEM Industries reverse-engineers car parts that nobody makes anymore. We 3D-scan a verified original, remodel it into a clean, printable CAD file, and offer it as a download or as a finished part manufactured on demand. The community requests what we don't carry yet and votes on what gets scanned next.
The parts that fail first on an older car (clips, brackets, handles, trim) are usually the ones the manufacturer stopped making first. An old discontinued part shouldn't be what takes a car off the road.
Our philosophy
Open by default
Every raw scan we take is free to download. The scan is the groundwork, not the product: publishing it means anyone can remodel their own or make custom parts based on it. The goal is to have a public archive of parts for any vehicle.
Faithful to the original
Every part starts from a verified original, captured precisely on a metrology-grade scanner. The remodelled CAD is checked back against the donor and test-fitted before it's published. The geometry matches; the badge on the box doesn't.
Made on demand, chosen by demand
Nothing is manufactured until someone needs it, and nothing is scanned until enough people ask. The request board decides what gets done next. Once a part is made for the person who asked, it stays available to everyone.
Roadmap
We're building outward from plastic. FDM printers get the parts that fail first (clips, brackets, mounts, trim) back into people's hands today. Everything below is about extending what "in production" can mean from there.
Plastic, printed on demand
FDM covers the parts that break most often and reproduce well in plastic: clips, brackets, mounts, trim. It's what most of the catalogue runs on today, and the fastest way to get a part back in your hands.
Metal, in-house
In-house CNC machines take on the load-bearing brackets and metal fittings that plastic could never stand in for, without routing every order through an outside machine shop.
Beyond FDM and CNC
Better production methods, SLS among them, open up finer detail and tougher materials. They also reach parts neither FDM nor CNC can produce, hoses included.
Any part, for any car
In a perfect world, every discontinued part is available for every car, and manufacturers share their own files with us to share with the community, instead of us reverse-engineering around them.
Contact
One inbox, read by the people who scan and model the parts. A question about a part, a fitment, an order, or an original you could lend us for scanning: it all goes to the same place. So does a reply to any email we've sent you.
